Jeff Green (basketball)
Jeffrey Lynn Green (born August 28, 1986) is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). As of 2024, he has played for 11 NBA teams in 15 seasons. A forward, Green played three seasons of college basketball for the Georgetown Hoyas. After entering the 2007 NBA draft, he was selected with the fifth overall pick by the Boston Celtics, but was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics. In 2008, following his rookie season, Green was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Green underwent successful open-heart surgery in 2012 and continued his playing career. In 2023, as a member of the Denver Nuggets, Green won his first NBA championship. As of 2024, he holds the record for having played with the greatest number of teammates in the NBA with 263. The 2007 Big East Men's Basketball Championship was played from March 7 to March 10, 2007. The tournament took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City and was sponsored by Aéropostale. The Georgetown Hoyas won the tournament for the first time since 1989 and the seventh time overall, and were awarded an automatic bid to the 2007 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Big East Men's Basketball Tournament
The Big East Men's Basketball Tournament is the championship tournament of the Big East Conference in men's basketball. The winner receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. As part of the 2013 deal in which seven schools left the original Big East Conference of 1979–2013 to form a new Big East Conference and the original conference became the American Athletic Conference, the new Big East received the rights to the conference tournament. Venue Since 1983, the tournament has been held in Madison Square Garden in New York City. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, is an American organization of men's college basketball coaches. It was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, the men's basketball head coach for the University of Kansas. Formation of the NABC began when Joint Basketball Rules Committee, then the central governing authority of the game, announced without notice that it had adopted a change in the rules which virtually eliminated dribbling. Allen, a student of basketball founder James Naismith, organized a nationwide protest which ultimately resulted in the dribble remaining part of the game.
