Jeff Grech
Jeff Grech is a motorsport team manager currently managing Winton Motor Raceway in Australia. Career Jeff Grech joined the Holden Dealer Team in 1982 as a mechanic. He moved to the Volvo Dealer Team in 1986 and later in the same year to Perkins Engineering. In 1990 he joined Gibson Motorsport as team manager before joining the Holden Racing Team in 1993. In his time at the Holden Racing Team, the squad became the dominant team in the championship, winning six drivers' championships and four Bathurst 1000s. He moved to Paul Weel Racing in 2006 and Tasman Motorsport in 2007 before leaving the sport at the end of 2009. In 2016 Grech returned to V8 Supercars as team manager of Team 18 until the end of 2018. The Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC) is a touring car racing award held in Australia since 1960. The series itself is no longer contested, but the title lives on, with the winner of the Repco Supercars Championship awarded the trophy and title of Australian Touring Car Champion. Holden Dealer Team
The Holden Dealer Team (HDT) was Holden's semi-official racing team from 1969 until 1986 Australian Touring Car season, 1986, primarily contesting Australian Touring car racing, Touring Car events but also rallying, rallycross and National Sports Sedan Series, Sports Sedan races during the 1970s. The Volvo Dealer Team was an Australian motor racing team that competed in Australian touring car racing in 1986 winning the Australian Touring Car Championship. The team was managed by John Sheppard and had its base at the Calder Park Raceway in Melbourne. History New Zealand based driver Robbie Francevic won the opening round of the opening two rounds of the 1986 Australian Touring Car Championship, driving the Mark Petch Motorsport Volvo 240T that he had campaigned in Australia throughout 1985. Perkins Engineering
Perkins Engineering was a team contesting the Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series, operating as an active racing team between 1986 and 2008. From 2009 onwards, the involvement of Perkins Engineering in the championship was wound back into a supply relationship with the newly formed Kelly Racing. Team History At the end of 1988, Perkins and Hulme went on to stage a one-two victory in the Group A support race at the 1988 Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide in November. Gibson Motorsport was an Australian motor racing team that competed in the Australian Touring Car Championship from 1985 until 2003, though the team had its roots in Gibson's "Road & Track" team which ran a series of Ford Falcon GTHOs in Series Production during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Walkinshaw Andretti United is an Australian motor racing team based in the Melbourne suburb of Clayton. The team, initially branded as the Holden Racing Team, used to field Holden Commodores in the Supercars Championship before making the switch to Ford Mustangs for the 2023 season. Paul Weel Racing was an Australian motor racing team which competed in the V8 Supercars Championship Series between 1998 and 2008. Ford Years After some brief appearances in 1997 in minor events, Paul Weel Racing debuted in the 1998 Australian Touring Car Championship with Paul Weel driving an ex Longhurst Racing constructed Ford EL Falcon. Tasman Motorsport was a V8 Supercars, V8 Supercar racing team. It was formed in 2004 out of what was Lansvale Racing Team V8 Supercar team and was associated with Greg Murphy Racing as a satellite team, satellite operation. Winton Motor Raceway is a motor racing track in Winton, near Benalla, Victoria, Australia. History The Benalla Auto Club began planning for a permanent racing track around 1958, as a replacement for their existing track at Barjarg. In 1960 it was decided to build the track at Winton Recreation Reserve and the track was completed in twelve months. The circuit hosted its first race meeting on 26 November 1961. The circuit was immediately popular - a March 1965 meeting featuring the Neptune touring car and the Victorian Formula Two championship drew a crowd of approximately 10,000 spectators. The circuit length was extended prior to the 1997 round of the V8 Supercar championship and the upgrade included a new pit complex.
