Jeff Ballard (artist)
Jeff Ballard (born Chicago, 1977) is an American glass artist. Biography Jeff Ballard started working with glass at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in the fall of 1996. After receiving his BFA in 2000 Ballard spent six years gaffing and designing work for production studios across the Southwest. He has taken classes and worked at Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and the Pittsburgh Glass Center, studying under notable artists such as Dante Marioni, Chris Taylor, Davide Salvadore, and Pino Signoretto. In 2006, Ballard re-located to the Northwest where he spends time creating his own work while teaching classes at the Eugene Glass School and the University of Oregon Craft Center. Ballard was announced as a finalist for the 2008 Niche Awards and was published in ''Art Buzz, the 2008 collection''. Jeff Ballard (baseball)
Jeffrey Scott Ballard (born August 13, 1963) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from to for the Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates. Playing career Ballard played college baseball for Stanford University, and in 1984 played collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Cardinals of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He earned a degree in geophysics from Stanford, and in 1998 was inducted into the Stanford Athletic Hall of Fame as one of Stanford's top pitchers, holding the all-time record in wins, strikeouts, and innings pitched for more than 20 years, as well as earning First Team All-Pac-10 twice. In 1989, he finished in a tie with Dennis Eckersley and Gregg Olson for sixth place in American League Cy Young Award voting. In 1995, Ballard's car collided with a semi truck on a highway in Idaho, breaking his neck and several ribs. The accident ended his career. Jeff Ballard (musician)
Jeff Ballard is an American jazz drummer. He has played with Ray Charles and Pat Metheny and played periodically with Chick Corea in many groups such as Origin and the Chick Corea New Trio. He also played with many New York-based jazz musicians such as Reid Anderson, Brad Mehldau, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mark Turner, Miguel Zenon and Eli Degibri. He has also played with the Joshua Redman Elastic Band. He is a member of the Brad Mehldau Trio (since 2005) and co-leader of Fly, a collective trio with Mark Turner and Larry Grenadier and leads Jeff Ballard Trio and Jeff Ballard Fairgrounds.
