Jeff Albert
Jeffrey A. Albert (born October 31, 1980) is an American professional baseball coach, currently in the role of Director of Hitting for the New York Mets. He has previously coached in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals. Career Albert graduated from Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, New York. He attended Butler University, where he played baseball for the Bulldogs. After graduating in 2003, he signed with the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League, an independent baseball league. Albert earned a master's degree in kinesiology from Louisiana Tech University in 2008. Albert served as a hitting coach in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system for five years, and then joined the Astros as their minor league hitting coordinator, a job he held for four years. Hitting Coach
In baseball, a number of coaches assist in the smooth functioning of a team. They are assistants to the manager, who determines the starting lineup and batting order, decides how to substitute players during the game, and makes strategy decisions. Beyond the manager, more than a half dozen coaches may assist the manager in running the team. Essentially, baseball coaches are analogous to assistant coaches in other sports, as the baseball manager is to the head coach. George Greer (baseball)
George Edward Greer (born October 18, 1946) is an American baseball coach. He has served as the hitting coach for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB) and was a head coach in college baseball for the Davidson Wildcats and Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Playing career Greer was raised in Westerly, Rhode Island, and graduated from Westerly High School, where he was named an All-State baseball player. He attended the University of Connecticut, where he played college baseball for the Connecticut Huskies. While at Connecticut, Greer played collegiate summer baseball for three seasons (1965–1967) with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and was named a league all-star in 1965 and 1966. Greer played as a right fielder for the United States national baseball team at the 1967 Pan American Games, hosted by Winnipeg. Troy Snitker
Troy Michael Snitker (born December 5, 1988) is an American professional baseball coach for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). Career Snitker attended Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia, and played college baseball for South Georgia State College and North Georgia College and State University. The Atlanta Braves selected Snitker in the 19th round of the 2011 MLB draft. He played in Minor League Baseball for the Braves organization until they traded him to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2013. That year, he played for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an independent baseball league.
