Jef Andries
Jef Andries (18 January 1919 – 26 September 2006) was a Belgian footballer. He played for Mechelen from 1936 until 1955. Biography Andries grew up in the hamlet of Elzestraat in Sint-Katelijne-Waver. In the 1940s he became one of the star players of FC Malinois, where he played on the right wing. With this team he became national champion in the 1942–43, 1945–46 and 1947–48 seasons. He was also selected four times for the Red Devils, without playing a single international match. He died at the age of 87 in the hospital of Duffel. Sint-Katelijne-Waver
Sint-Katelijne-Waver (, old spelling: ''Kathelijne-Waver''; , ) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Waver and Sint-Katelijne-Waver proper. In 2021, Sint-Katelijne-Waver had a total population of 21,197. The total area is 36.12 km2. Roosendael, a ruined relic of a cistercian abbey is situated here and today hosts a youth and touristic centre with pleasant walkways. Economic activities Sint-Katelijne-Waver is a centre for market gardening and has many greenhouses. The Mechelse Veilingen in Sint-Katelijne-Waver is the largest co-operative vegetable auction in Europe. Duffel
Duffel () is a Municipalities of Belgium, municipality in the Belgium, Belgian province of Antwerp (province), Antwerp. The municipality comprises the town of Duffel proper. On 1 January 2020, Duffel had a total population of 17,664. The total area is 22.71 km2 which gives a population density of 778 inhabitants per km2. The area is the eponym of a coarse woolen cloth, manufactured in this area from the 11th century, mainly used to make blankets, outdoor (army) coats, and tote bags. Duffel became a household name during and after World War II in the meaning of a coat designed with toggle-and-loop fastening and roomy hood. The etymology of Duffel is from "dubro" and "locus", from the Gaulish language, Gaulish ''dubrum'', ''dubron'' – "water". The Belgium national football team has represented Belgium in men's international Association football, football since Évence Coppée Trophy, their maiden match in 1904. The squad is under the global jurisdiction of FIFA and is governed in Europe by UEFA—both of which were co-founded by the Belgian team's supervising body, the Royal Belgian Football Association.
