The Jed River is a river of New Zealand's South Island. It flows to the Pacific Ocean close to the town of Cheviot, New Zealand, Cheviot adjacent to Gore Bay, New Zealand, Gore Bay. Jed Water
The Jed Water is a river and a tributary of the River Teviot in the Borders region of Scotland. In total the Jed Water is over long and it falls . It flows into the Teviot near Jedfoot Bridge () two miles north of Jedburgh. Jed Water rises from a source on Carlin Tooth in the Cheviot Hills where it is first known as Raven Burn. Description The river in past times was the main source of water for the monks living in Jedburgh Abbey. It also powered a watermill in the town of Jedburgh although this no longer exists. It gives its name to Jedburgh and Jedforest. In the 1800s it had trout in the river. Edwin Jed Fish Gould III (July 15, 1955 – April 14, 2025), known to radio listeners as Jed the Fish, was an American disc jockey who hosted afternoon drive on KROQ-FM in Los Angeles, from 1978 to 2012. He interviewed alternative acts such as Brian Eno, David Bowie, Sting, and Elvis Costello. An early supporter of new wave and alternative bands, Jed the Fish is reputed to have been the first U.S. DJ to play Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, and The Pretenders, and thus having helped KROQ establish itself as an influential radio station of the 1980s and 1990s. Jed was an American animal actor, known for his roles in the movies '' White Fang'' (1991), '' White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf'' (1994), '' The Journey of Natty Gann'' (1985), and '' The Thing'' (1982). He was born in 1977 and died in June 1995. He was a Vancouver Island wolf- Alaskan Malamute hybrid.
