Jebediah Songs
Jebediah are an Australian alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Perth, Western Australia. They were formed by Chris Daymond on lead guitar, Bob Evans (musician), Kevin Mitchell (aka Bob Evans) on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and Vanessa Thornton on bass guitar. They were joined a year later by Kevin's older brother, Brett Mitchell, on drums. After winning the National Campus Band Competition, the group were brought to national attention when their 1996 single "Jerks of Attention" received heavy airplay on Australian alternative radio station Triple J – which was followed by their breakthrough debut album, ''Slightly Odway'' (8 September 1997). The band released four studio albums by 2004: three entered the top ten on the ARIA Charts, ARIA Albums Chart; their second album, ''Of Someday Shambles'' (3 October 2000), is the highest charting at number two. Basement Birds
Basement Birds were an Australian indie pop rock group which formed in mid-2009 and comprised four singer-songwriters, Kevin Mitchell (of Jebediah, aka Bob Evans), Steve Parkin (ex-Vinyl, Autopilot, solo), Josh Pyke (ex-An Empty Flight, solo) and Kavyen Temperley (of Eskimo Joe). The members' mutual love of lush vocal harmonies and alt-country style was the basis for forming the project. Mitchell, Parkin and Temperley had each developed their careers in Perth. Influences cited by the band include Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Wilco. Their first single, "Waiting for You" was debuted on Australian radio station Triple J's ''Drive'' program on 14 April 2010. Leeming, Western Australia
Leeming is a southern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is divided between the three local government areas of the City of Melville, the City of Cockburn (south) and the City of Canning (north-east). It is located approximately south of the Perth central business district and east of Fremantle. History The area was previously part of Jandakot and was predominantly agricultural until the 1970s, having been laid out by surveyor George Waters Leeming (1857–1902) in 1886. Leeming Senior High School is a Public school (government funded), public Mixed-sex education, co-educational Secondary education#Australia, high day school, located in the City of Melville on Aulberry Parade in the suburb of Leeming, Western Australia. ''Kosciuszko'' is the fifth studio album by Australian alternative rock band Jebediah. Released on 15 April 2011, by Dew Process'','' the album introduced the award-winning band to mainstream audiences and commercial success. Background and recording Even though Jebediah took five years to re-enter the studio after the release of their '' Anniversary E.P.'' (2005)'','' the band began drafting the songs as early as 2006. Between the two albums, the band took a break, with lead singer–rhythm guitarist Kevin Mitchell relocating to Melbourne during the hiatus. Recording occurred at Blackbird Studios in Perth, Australia, and production duties were undertaken by Dave Parkin (owner of the studio) in collaboration with the band.
