Jean-Paul Afif
Jean-Paul Afif (born March 30, 1980) is an American-Lebanese former professional basketball player. Afif previously played college basketball in NCAA Division I for Loyola Marymount University. He went on to play professionally in multiple leagues, and coached the Texas Tycoons and Dallas Defenders. History High school career Jean-Paul Simon Afif was born on March 30, 1980, in Los Angeles, and attended Temecula Valley High School in Temecula, California. Collegiate career Afif played basketball during his sophomore season at Loyola Marymount University in 1999–00 after transferring from St. Catharine College. His basketball scholarship was revoked the following season by new coach Steve Aggers, and Afif brought suit against the school. Buffalo Rapids
The Buffalo Sharks were a basketball team based in Buffalo, New York. The team competed in the American Basketball Association (ABA) as the Buffalo Rapids in 2005–06 and as the Buffalo Silverbacks in 2006–07 before suspending operations. The organization rebranded as the Buffalo Sharks with plans to relaunch for the 2008–09 ABA season, but ownership instead folded the team. Its legacy remains as the city's first basketball franchise to operate after the Buffalo Braves relocated to San Diego following the 1977–78 NBA season. Steve Aggers
Steve Aggers (born May 31, 1948) is an American retired college basketball coach. He is best known for his tenures as head coach of NCAA Division I programs at Eastern Washington and Loyola Marymount. Aggers was hired as head coach at Eastern Washington after assistant coaching stints at Pepperdine and Kansas State under Tom Asbury. He had previously been head coach at Wayne State in Nebraska and the University of Great Falls. He led the Eagles to their first Big Sky Conference title in school history in 2000. He was hired as head coach at Loyola Marymount University in 2000. He was fired in 2005 after an 11–17 season in 2004–05. The Premier Basketball League (PBL) is an American professional men's basketball minor league that began play in January 2008. The league folded after the 2017 season. It was announced that the league would be revived under new management for the 2020 season. The league announced due coronavirus outbreak the season would be put on hold. The 2007–08 ABA season was the seventh season of the American Basketball Association that lasted from November 2008 and ended with the championship game in March 2009 between the Vermont Frost Heaves and the San Diego Wildcats. The Vermont Frost Heaves won their league-best second title after defeating the Wildcats, 87–84. 2006–07 ABA Season
The 2006–07 ABA season was the sixth season of the American Basketball Association that lasted from November 2007 and ended with the championship game in March 2008 between the Vermont Frost Heaves and the Texas Tycoons. The season ended with the Frost Heaves winning their first ABA championship, 143–95 over the Texas Tycoons. Many teams did not complete their schedule due to travel problems, costs, etc. and or bad weather. Instead of postponing these games, the squads were forced to forfeit, pushing a few teams, like the defending champion Rochester Razorsharks, to leave the ABA by the end of the season. The 2002–03 NBA season was the 57th season of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The season ended with the San Antonio Spurs beating the New Jersey Nets 4–2 in the 2003 NBA Finals.
