Jean-Marie Laclavetine
Jean-Marie Laclavetine (born February 17, 1954, in Bordeaux) is a French editor, writer and translator of Italian literature into French. Biography Jean-Marie Laclavetine was born in 1954 in Bordeaux. At the age of twenty-six he published his first novel, ''Les Emmurés'', for which he received the literary award Prix Fénéon in 1981. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Éditions Gallimard publishing house Comité de Lecture. He translated the Italian authors Alberto Savinio, Giuseppe Antonio Borgese, Leonardo Sciascia, Vitaliano Brancati and Alberto Moravia into French. Laclavetine lives in Tours, France. Prix François Mauriac
Prix was an American power pop band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1975 by Tommy Hoehn and Jon Tiven. The group ended up primarily as a studio project. Its recordings were produced by Tiven along with former Big Star member Chris Bell, who also played guitar and sang backup vocals. Prix is also famous for its use of banjo. Alex Chilton also participated in the recordings, along with session drummer Hilly Michaels. Although the group generated some major record label interest—notably from Mercury Records and Columbia/CBS Records—it ultimately only released a double A-side single on Ork Records in 1977 and a single on Miracle Records in 1978. Its only live performance came at a CBS Records showcase in 1976. In 1977, just as Ork Records released the first single and booked the group at CBGB, Prix broke up due both to Hoehn's unwillingness to remain in New York and to creative differences. The Prix Goncourt des Lycéens is a French literary award voted for by school students. It was created in 1988 under the patronage of the Prix Goncourt, with the aim of giving young readers the chance to read and discuss the books selected as the best of the year and to elect their chosen winner. The ten members of the Académie Goncourt select twelve literary works as nominees. Some two thousand ''lycée'' (roughly equivalent to US high school) students read all twelve novels, participate in discussions and debates about them, and ultimately vote on the winner. Le Temps qu'il fait is a French publishing house, first established in Cognac, and active since 1981. History Created and directed by Georges Monti, Le Temps qu'il fait is now located at Bazas, in Gironde. The house draws its name from the eponymous novel by Armand Robin.
