Jaylen Smith is an American politician who is the mayor of Earle, Arkansas. At age 18, he became one of the youngest mayors ever elected in the United States. Early life and education Smith graduated from Earle High School in May 2022. Career In 2022, running as a Democratic Party candidate, Smith won the election to be the mayor of Earle, Arkansas. He won 235 votes, beating his rival candidate Nemi Matthews, who received 185 votes. He was sworn into office on January 3, 2023. His victory made him the youngest black mayor in US history. Earle is a city in Crittenden County, Arkansas, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 1,831. Geography Earle is located in western Crittenden County at (35.270405, -90.464841). John Tyler Hammons (born September 4, 1988) is an American politician who served as the 47th Mayor of Muskogee, Oklahoma from 2008 to 2012. He gained national attention when he was elected on May 13, 2008, as a 19-year-old freshman at the University of Oklahoma, after winning 70 percent of the vote in a runoff election against 70-year-old, three-time former Muskogee mayor Herschel McBride. Michael Sessions (September 22, 1987) is the former mayor of Hillsdale, Michigan, United States, a city of about 8300 people. He was elected on November 8, 2005. He was sworn into office on November 21. Elected at the age of 18, he was among the youngest mayors in United States history.
