SBRR Mahajana First Grade College (Autonomous) Jayalakshmipuram, Mysore is a College with Potential for Excellence accredited A Grade by N.A.A.C. (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) during its 3rd Cycle and affiliated to University of Mysore. The college was founded in 1982 as a women's college offering B.A. & B.Com. courses. It was admitted to the grant-in-aid in 1987 and in 1988 became a co-educational institution. Javaregowda
Devegowda Javaregowda (6 July 1915 – 30 May 2016), known as De Ja Gou or simply Javaregowda, was an Indian Kannada writer, folklorist, researcher, scholar and academic. He was disciple of authors T.N. Srikantaiah and Kuvempu. His literary career spans over decades in which he wrote over thirty-four biographies in Kannada language and other works including children's literature. He campaigned for the promotion of Kannada language. He had received Pampa Prashasti (1998), Padma Shri (2001) and the Karnataka Ratna (2008) awards for his contributions in literature and education. He became a centenarian in 2015 and died on 30 May 2016. Early life Gowda was born in a Vokkaliga family on 6 July 1915 in the village called Chakkere in the Channapatna taluk of Ramanagara district in Karnataka state. Chamarajendra Wadiyar X
Chamarajendra Wadiyar X (22 February 1863 – 28 December 1894) was the twenty-third Maharaja of Mysore between 1868 and 1894. Adoption and accession Chamarajendra Wadiyar X was born in the old palace in Mysore on 22 February 1863, as the third son of Sardar Chikka Krishnaraj Urs of the Wadiyar dynasty#Bettada Kote (Hill Fort) Urs branch, Bettada-Kote Urs branch. His father died about a week before his birth. His mother, Rajkumari Putammani Devi, was the eldest daughter of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar III. Following the failure of a male heir, Krishnaraja Wodeyar III decided to adopt Chamarajendra. The adoption was done on 18 June 1865 and was recognised by the British Raj, Government of British India on 16 April 1867. Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion is a heritage building in Mysore. Description Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion is a building of architectural importance in Mysore city, Karnataka. It is located in the verdant surroundings of Manasa Gangothri, the campus of the University of Mysore. It rises on a hillock on the west side of Kukkarahalli Kere (lake). Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion houses a museum of priceless collections of artifacts. The Karnataka government classifies it as a heritage structure. The University of Mysore is a public state university in Mysore, Karnataka, India. The university was founded during the reign of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV and the premiership of Sir M.
