Jay M. Robinson High School, often referred to as Robinson, JMR, or JRob by students, is a comprehensive public high school located in Concord, North Carolina. It is the fifth high school of the Cabarrus County Schools system, opening its doors in August 2001, the county's first new high school since 1966. The school's enrollment dropped with the openings of Cox Mill High School and Hickory Ridge High School. The school was constructed under the name ''Southwest Cabarrus High School'', but was renamed in 2001 after the death of Jay Robinson, Chairman of the North Carolina State Board of Education and former Cabarrus County Schools administrator. Campus and Facilities Robinson sits in the southwest sector of Cabarrus County, one mile (1.6 km) northeast of Charlotte Motor Speedway. Spencer Paul Boyd (born June 26, 1995) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 76 Chevrolet Silverado#Fourth-generation Silverado / fifth-generation Sierra (GMT T1XX; 2019), Chevrolet Silverado RST for Freedom Racing Enterprises, a team he co-owns with Chris Miller. Concord High School is a public high school in Concord, North Carolina, United States. First opened on September 2, 1895 (one session held in fall 1893), it is the oldest public high school in Cabarrus County and one of the oldest extant in North Carolina. It became part of Cabarrus County Schools in 1983 when Concord City Schools merged with the county school system. It is also a half-regular high school and half IB high school. History The Concord City Schools were created on May 2, 1891, upon passage of a citywide voter referendum. Terry Sanford High School (formerly known as Fayetteville Senior High School) is a public high school in Fayetteville, North Carolina. It is named after Terry Sanford, who was a North Carolina state senator, Governor of North Carolina, and United States Senator. William Donald Carmichael Jr. Arena (formerly known as Carmichael Auditorium and commonly known as Blue Heaven) is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States. It is home to four Tar Heels athletic teams: women's basketball, volleyball, women's gymnastics, and wrestling.
