Jay Hosler
Jay Hosler is the author and illustrator of science-oriented comics. He is best known for his graphic novels '' Clan Apis'', '' The Sandwalk Adventures'', and '' Optical Allusions''. '' Clan Apis'', a Xeric Foundation Award winner, follows the life of a honey bee named Nyuki; the story conveys factual information about honey bees in a humorous fashion as Nyuki learns about each new stage of her life. '' The Sandwalk Adventures'', an Eisner Award nominee, follows a conversation about evolution between Charles Darwin and a follicle mite living in his left eyebrow. Stan Lee
Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber ; December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018) was an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, and producer. He rose through the ranks of a family-run business called Timely Publications which would later become Marvel Comics. He was the primary creative leader for two decades, leading its expansion from a small division of a publishing house to a multimedia corporation that dominated the comics and film industries. Neda Ulaby ( ar, ندى علبي, born 1970) is an American reporter for National Public Radio, covering arts, cultural trends and digital media. She lives in Washington, D.C. Early life and education Born during Black September in Amman, Jordan, Ulaby spent her childhood in Lawrence, Kansas, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. The father who raised her, Fawwaz Ulaby, is a professor of electrical engineering from Damascus, Syria. In her late 20s, Neda learned that Fawwaz Ulaby was not her biological father and that the latter was a Jewish man. After graduating from the alternative Community High School in Ann Arbor, she attended Bryn Mawr College, graduating in 1993. Jim Ottaviani is an American writer who is the author of several comic books about the history of science. His best-known work, ''Two-Fisted Science: Stories About Scientists'', features biographical stories about Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton, Niels Bohr, and several stories about physicist Richard Feynman. He is also a librarian and has worked as a nuclear engineer. Biography Ottaviani has a background in science, earning a B.S. at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986, followed by a master's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Michigan in 1987. Alexander Cannon (born November 1, 1972) is an American cartoonist, known for his work on books such as ''Top 10'', ''Smax'' and '' Kaijumax''. Career Cannon's first professional comics work was '' The Chainsaw Vigilante'', a spin-off from ''The Tick'', from New England Comics. Beginning in the mid-1990s, he wrote and drew '' The Replacement God'', a fantasy comic book about a former slave named Knute who is pursued across the fictional land of Mun by a tyrannical king and his beatnik Visigoth Death Horde. Kevin Cannon
Kevin Cannon is an American cartoonist and illustrator. Life and career Cannon first published work was ''Johnny Cavalier'', published by Grinnell College Press, which included 100 pages of weekly strips that originally ran in the '' Scarlet and Black''. While attending Grinnell, Kevin was often asked if he was Zander Cannon's brother, though the two bear no relation. This caused him to contact Zander at The Handicraft Guild in Minneapolis and began work as his assistant. Kevin did background illustrations for '' Smax'', published by DC Comics and illustrated '' The Handsome Prince'' by author Tom Hegg.
