''Jay'' () is the debut studio album by Taiwanese singer Jay Chou. It was released on 7 November 2000, by BMG Taiwan. It was entirely produced and composed by Chou, with lyrics written by Chou alongside his creative partners Vincent Fang and Vivian Hsu. Musically, the record incorporates popular music genres such as pop, hip-hop, R&B, and adult contemporary. ''Jay'' received highly positive reviews from music critics; it is retrospectively credited for starting a whole new era of C-Pop music and is seen as one of the most impactful albums from Greater China of the 21st century. Commercially, the album was a success, shipping over 250,000 copies in Taiwan, and became the top seller for four consecutive months. Jay Chou Chieh-lun ( zh, s=周杰伦, t=周杰倫, first=t, p=Zhōu Jiélún; born 18 January 1979) is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter, actor, director, and businessman. Jacky Wu (; born 26 September 1962) is a Taiwanese television show host, singer, and actor. String Orchestra
A string orchestra is an orchestra consisting solely of a string section made up of the bowed strings used in Western Classical music. The instruments of such an orchestra are most often the following: the violin, which is divided into first and second violin players (each usually playing different parts), the viola, the cello, and usually, but not always, the double bass. A sentimental ballad is an emotional style of music that often deals with romantic and intimate relationships, and to a lesser extent, loneliness, death, war, drug abuse, politics and religion, usually in a poignant but solemn manner. Urban contemporary music, also known as urban music, urban pop, or just simply urban, is a music radio format.
