Javier Villena
Francisco Javier Mulero Villena (born 17 August 1966) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a centre back. He began his career with Barcelona, but never played for the first team. He went on to make 156 appearances in La Liga over six seasons for Real Burgos, Real Mallorca and Compostela, scoring four goals. Career Villena was born in Barcelona, capital of the autonomous community of Catalonia, and began his career with local giants FC Barcelona. He made his first appearances for the C team, Barcelona Amateur, during the 1985–86 season, in which they were relegated from Segunda División B. However, he was a key part of the side that won promotion at the first attempt the following year as winners of their Tercera División group. In 1987–88 he began playing for the B team, Barcelona Atlètic, in the Segunda División, with whom he also suffered relegation in 1988–89. The 1997–98 La Liga season was the 67th since its establishment. It began on 30 August 1997, and concluded on 16 May 1998. On 29 March 1998, following Sporting Gijón's 0–0 draw with Zaragoza, combined with Racing Santander's 4–3 loss to Athletic Bilbao, Sporting Gijón became the first team in La Liga history to be relegated in March, ending the season with a league-record lowest points tally of just 13. Promotion and relegation Twenty teams competed in the league – the top seventeen teams from the previous season and the three teams promoted from the Segunda División. The promoted teams were Mérida, Salamanca (both teams returning after a season's absence) and Mallorca (returning after a five-year absence). The 1991–92 La Liga season was the 61st since its establishment. It began on 31 August 1991, and concluded on 7 June 1992. After the penultimate game, Real Madrid led by 1 point and needed to win away to Tenerife, managed by their former player Jorge Valdano, to seal the title. Despite taking a 2-0 lead, Madrid lost 3-2. The result meant that Barcelona – which also won the European Cup for the first time in club history – finished the season as champions for the second season running. Estadio Municipal de El Plantío is a stadium in Burgos, Spain. It is currently used for football (soccer) matches and is the home stadium of Burgos CF. The stadium holds 12,194 spectators.
