Javier Moreno Valera (born 10 September 1974) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a striker, and the current manager of CF Intercity. Best known for his Alavés stint, he amassed totals of 118 matches and 38 goals in La Liga, where he also represented Atlético Madrid and Zaragoza. He had brief spells with Milan in Serie A and Bolton Wanderers of the Premier League, with little impact. Moreno, who earned five caps for Spain in 2001, later managed in the lower divisions. Javier "Javi" Moreno Sánchez (born 20 June 1997) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a left winger for Armenian Premier League club Pyunik. Club career Born in Almería, Andalusia, Moreno started his career with CD Oriente, and subsequently represented Los Molinos CF and La Cañada Atlético CF. In July 2014 he returned to Los Molinos, and made his first-team debut on 23 August by starting in a 0–1 Tercera División home loss against UD San Pedro. In January 2015, after three appearances with the main squad, Moreno signed for UD Almería and returned to youth football. Javier Moreno Sánchez (; born 12 March 1965 in Switzerland) is a Spanish politician who has served as Member of the European Parliament for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party from 2004 until 2009 and since 2019, part of the Party of European Socialists. From 2014 until 2019, he was the Secretary General of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists & Democrats' parliamentary group. In his first term as Member of the European Parliament, Moreno served on the Committee on International Trade (2004–2007) and the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (2007–2009). In addition to his committee assignments, he was a member of the Parliament's delegation for relations with Mercosur. Career Moreno was born in Jaén. In 2009, Moreno won the third annual Criterium Ciudad de Jaén race, an unofficial two-day competition held during the off-season of the UCI World Tour circuit.
