Javier Latorre
Javier Antonio García Expósito (known as Javier Latorre; born 1963, in Valencia, Spain) is a dancer and choreographer. He debuted at the age of sixteen in the National Lyric Company. In 1979, he joined the Ballet Nacional de España, as soloist under the direction of Antonio Gades. After receiving an award as the Festival d'Avignon, he founded in 1988 in Cordoba the Ziryab Danza of which he was director, choreographer and dancer. He had considerable success with the show ''Hijas del Alba''. A year later, he received three national awards at the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco. In 1990, he toured with the show ''La fuerza del destino''all over Europe, and participated as a guest artist with Mario Maya in ''Diálogos del Amargo''. Antonio Gades
Antonio Esteve Ródenas or Antonio Gades (14 November 1936 – 20 July 2004) was a Spanish flamenco dancer and choreographer. He helped to popularize the art form on the international stage. He was born in Elda, Alicante, and was the father of actress María Esteve and singer Celia Flores-- with his ex-partner Marisol, herself a popular actress and singer. Career Flamenco Gades's most notable works included dance adaptations of Prosper Mérimée's ''Carmen'' and Federico García Lorca's '' Blood Wedding'' (''Bodas de Sangre''), as well as a feature-length adaptation of Manuel de Falla's 23-minute ballet '' El amor brujo''. Festival D'Avignon
The ''Festival d'Avignon'', or Avignon Festival (), is an annual arts festival held in the France, French city of Avignon every summer in July in the courtyard of the Palais des Papes as well as in other locations of the city. Founded in 1947 by Jean Vilar, it is the oldest existent festival in France. Alongside the official festival, the "In" one, a number of shows are presented in Avignon at the same time of the year and are known as the "Off". In 2008, some 950 shows were performed during three weeks. Mario Maya
Mario Maya (1937 – September 27, 2008) was a Spanish flamenco dancer who directed the Andalusian Dance Company at the Andalusian Dance Centre. Biography He was born in Córdoba, Spain, Córdoba in 1937 to a Gitanos, Romani family, but grew up in the Sacromonte of Granada. He set up his own school in Seville in 1983 and, ten years later, presented his new company ‘Flamenco Mario Maya’ at the Alcalá Palace Theatre in Madrid. Between 1994 and 1997 he directed the Andalusian Dance Company at the Andalusian Dance Centre. He took part in Carlos Saura’s 1995 film Flamenco (1995 film), ''Flamenco''. Vicente Amigo
Vicente Amigo Girol (born 25 March 1967) is a Spanish flamenco composer and guitarist, born in Guadalcanal near Seville. He has played as an accompanying guitarist on recordings by flamenco singers Camarón de la Isla, and Luis de Córdoba, and he has acted as a producer for Remedios Amaya and José Mercé. His album ''Ciudad de las Ideas'' won the 2001 Latin Grammy for the Best Flamenco Album and the 2002 Ondas award for the best Flamenco work. Biography Amigo was raised in Córdoba, where he took guitar lessons and later improved his playing with Manolo Sanlúcar, with whom he worked for ten years. After a period of accompaniment which began with El Pele, he devoted himself almost exclusively to playing concerts in 1988.
