Jatiotabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (), abbreviated as JASAS, is the cultural wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). History Jatiotabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha was established in 1978. In February 2015, Bangladesh Police arrested singer and JASAS leader, Baby Naznin, near the political office of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia. The joint general secretary of Zakiganj Upazila unit of JASAS, Sultan Ahmed, went missing in January 2018. A police missing case was filed with the Zakiganj Police Station. In 2018, Jatiotabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha carried out a signature collection drive to demand the release of former Prime Minister and Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party Khaleda Zia. In April 2018, a conversation was leaked between the vice chairperson of the party and son of Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman and Mamun Ahmed, Professor of the Biochemistry department of the University of Dhaka and leader of JASAS. Mamun Ahmed
Mamun Ahmed is a Bangladeshi academic and pro-vice chancellor of the University of Dhaka. He is a professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He is an advisor to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia and President of Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha. Early life Ahmed was born on 1 January 1967 in Jagatpur village, Darbeshpur Union, Ramganj Upazila, Lakshmipur District, East Pakistan. He did his bachelor's degree and masters in biochemistry at the University of Dhaka in 1989 and 1991. He completed his PhD at the Nihon University in Molecular Virology in 1996. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir (born 26 January 1948) is a Bangladeshi politician. He has been the secretary general of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) since 2016.
