Jason Bourne
Jason Bourne () is the titular character and the protagonist in a series of novels and subsequent film adaptations. The character was created by novelist Robert Ludlum. He first appeared in the novel '' The Bourne Identity'' (1980), which was adapted for television in 1988. The novel was adapted into a feature film of the same name in 2002 and starred Matt Damon in the lead role. The character originally featured in three novels by Ludlum, released between 1980 and 1990, followed by eleven novels written by Eric Van Lustbader between 2004 and 2019, and five novels by Brian Freeman since 2020, with his sixth novel being released in early 2025. ''The Bourne Ultimatum'' is a 2007 action film, action-thriller film directed by Paul Greengrass. Although it shares its name with Ludlum's The Bourne Ultimatum, titular 1990 novel, its plot is entirely different. ''Bourne'' is a series of spy novels originally written by American author Robert Ludlum, featuring the fictional spy Jason Bourne. Ludlum wrote the first three novels: The Bourne Identity (1980), The Bourne Supremacy (1986), and The Bourne Ultimatum (1990). After Ludlum's death in 2001, the series was continued by author Eric Van Lustbader, who wrote several additional novels expanding the character’s story. Christopher Russell Rouse (born November 28, 1958) is an American film and television editor and screenwriter who has about a dozen feature-film credits and numerous television credits.
