Jason Baitieri
Jason Baitieri (born 2 July 1989) is France international rugby league footballer who plays as a for the FC Lézignan XIII in the Elite One Championship. He has previously played for the Sydney Roosters in the NRL and on loan from Catalans at Saint-Esteve in the Elite One Championship. Background Baitieri was born in Paris, France to an Australian father Tas, a former professional rugby league footballer and coach, and a French mother. He played his junior rugby league in Toulouse before returning to Castle Hill, New South Wales when he was 8, where he played for the Hills District Bulls. Baiteri was educated at Oakhill College, Castle Hill and represented the 2007 Australian Schoolboys. Playing career Baitieri joined the Sydney Roosters via their feeder club, the Newtown Jets. Newtown Jets
The Newtown Jets are an Australian rugby league football club based in Newtown, a suburb of Sydney's inner west. They currently compete in the NSW Cup competition, having left the top grade after the 1983 NSWRFL season. The Jets' home ground is Henson Park, and their team colours are blue (traditionally royal blue) and white. Established in 1908, Newtown were one of the founding members of the New South Wales Rugby Football League. They competed continuously in the NSWRFL premiership until their departure in 1983, the first reduction in the League since 1937. Over this period they won the competition three times. The 2019 Rugby League World Cup 9s was the first staging of the Rugby League World Cup 9s tournament and took place on 18 and 19 October 2019 at Sydney's Bankwest Stadium. The tournament featured teams from 12 International Rugby League member countries, 4 of which also fielded teams in the women's tournament. In the men's final, Australia defeated New Zealand, while in the women's final, New Zealand defeated Australia. The 2015 European Cup was an international rugby league football tournament. The tournament took place between 16 October and 7 November in Wales, France, Scotland and Ireland. Scotland were the defending champions. Four teams competed in the 2015 event; Wales, Scotland, France and Ireland. Wales were crowned 2015 European Cup champions after winning all of their games putting them on top of the table with the maximum points tally of 6. 2014 European Cup
The 2014 European Cup was an international rugby league football tournament. The tournament took place in England, Wales, France, Ireland and Scotland between 17 October and 2 November. It was announced beforehand that the winner of the tournament would qualify for the 2016 Four Nations, and also that if Ireland or Wales won tournament, they will automatically qualify for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup (due to the World Cup qualifying tournament taking place at the same time as the 2016 Four Nations). France and Scotland had already qualified for that tournament. The England Knights were defending Champions but they did not compete in this year's tournament.
