Jasmine Kara
Jasmine Karolina Kara Khatib-Nia (born Karolina Khatib-Nia, 23 June 1988), known by her stage name Jasmine Kara, is a Swedish-Iranian singer, songwriter, and author. Her breakthrough came in the summer of 2010, when she released her debut album ''Blues Ain't Nothing But a Good Woman Gone Bad'', sang in Allsång på Skansen, and at a concert held in connection with the Wedding of Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, and Daniel Westling. Since then, she has frequently appeared in Swedish music TV shows such as '' Let's Dance'' on TV4, '' Lotta på Liseberg'', and '' Moraeus Med Mera''. Jasmine had P3 Gold nominations, performed at the Swedish Grammy awards, and has toured in Sweden, Japan, UK and the United States. Melodifestivalen 2017 was the 57th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen, which selected Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The competition was organised by (SVT) and took place over a six-week period between 4 February and 11 March 2017. The format of the competition consisted of 6 shows: 4 heat rounds, a second chance round and a final. An initial 28 entries were selected for the competition through three methods: an open call for song submissions, direct invitations to specific artists and songwriters and a wildcard given to one of the artists that participated in the ''Svensktoppen nästa'' competition organised by Sveriges Radio P4. Körslaget (''The Battle of Choirs'') is a Sweden, Swedish entertainment Television program, TV program on TV4 (Sweden), TV4. The format was developed by Friday TV and based on an idea from Caroline af Ugglas, Heinz Liljedahl and Patrik Hambraeus. A United States, US version, ''Clash of the Choirs'', was broadcast on NBC in December 2007. In each season of Körslaget, seven known musicians from Sweden start their own choirs with 20 members in each. Each choir then performs one song in each program, and the audience then votes (either through a telephone call or Short Message Service, SMS messaging) on the choir(s) they want to remain in the season. ''Weekend Wogan'' was the incarnation of the Sunday morning show on BBC Radio 2 from 14 February 2010 to 8 November 2015. The show was presented by Sir Terry Wogan, which marked his return to the airwaves following his departure as presenter of the weekday breakfast show, in December 2009. In its first year, the show was broadcast in front of a live audience in the BBC Radio Theatre, before moving to Western House, Radio 2's headquarters, where it remained until the end of its run.
