Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley (born November 2, 2000) is an American football tight end for the TCU Horned Frogs. He previously played for the Texas Longhorns. High school career Wiley attended Temple High School in Temple, Texas. He played tight end and quarterback in high school. He was the team's starting quarterback his senior season and passed for 2,314 yards with 27 touchdowns and five interceptions. He committed to the University of Texas at Austin to play college football. College career Wiley played at Texas from 2019 to 2021. In his three years there, he started 12 of 32 games, recording 19 receptions for 248 yards and three touchdowns. After the 2021 season, he transferred to Texas Christian University (TCU). In his first year at TCU in 2022, he had 24 receptions for 245 yards and four touchdowns. He returned in TCU in 2023. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense (sports), offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic.
