Jared Mees
Jared Mees is an American professional dirt track motorcycle racer. He competes in the AMA Grand National Championship winning the GNC1 title in 2012, 2014, and 2015, the Grand National Twins Championship in 2009, and the Grand National Singles Championship in 2012. He is married to former professional motorcycle racer Nichole Cheza. AMA Pro Flat Track Mees secured the 2017 American Flat Track Championship with a victory at the Williams Grove Half-Mile event, clinching the championship with two rounds remaining in the season. Superprestigio Dirt Track As the 2014 Grand National Champion, Mees was invited to participate in the Superprestigio Dirt Track race on December 13, 2014, at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain. X Games Harley-Davidson Flat-Track racing was an event for the ESPN Summer X Games held in Austin, Texas, first held on June 4, 2015. Flat-Track racing will return to X Games for 2016 in Austin on Thursday, June 2, 2016. The 2015 event had a very rough track due to torrential rains, but was still very well received by the public and press Competition Rules The 2015 event utilized AMA Pro Flat Track GNC1 equipment rules as they apply to twin-cylinder motorcycles. Bryan Smith (born June 24, 1983) is an American professional motorcycle racer from Flint, Michigan. Career Smith has been racing for over fourteen years. In 2015, Smith competed in his first X Games, winning gold in the Flat-Track event. Smith has won five races at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack, the latest being the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship. Early Career Began racing BMX at age six, then moved to Flat Track and Ice Racing at age seven. 2014 Smith looked to have the GNC1 championship in his grasp until a smoking bike led to a black flag at Calistoga. Harley-Davidson XR-750
The Harley-Davidson XR-750 is a racing motorcycle made by Harley-Davidson since 1970, primarily for dirt track racing, but also for road racing in the XRTT variant. The XR-750 was designed in response to a 1969 change in AMA Grand National Championship rules that leveled the playing field for makes other than Harley-Davidson, allowing Japanese and British motorcycles to outperform the previously dominant Harley-Davidson KR race bike. The XR-750 went on to win the most races in the history of American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) racing. The Harley-Davidson Sportster is a line of motorcycles produced continuously since 1957 by Harley-Davidson. Sportster models are designated in Harley-Davidson's product code by beginning with "XL". In 1952, the predecessors to the Sportster, the Model K Sport and Sport Solo motorcycles, were introduced. These models K, KK, KH, and KHK of 1952 to 1956 had a sidevalve ('flat head') engine, whereas the later XL Sportster models use an overhead valve engine. The first Sportster in 1957 had many of the same details of the KH including the frame, fenders, large gas tank and front suspension. The Indian Scout FTR750 is a competition-only motorcycle engine made by Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company for flat track racing. It is a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, four-valve-per-cylinder V-twin. A single-pin crankshaft riding on plain bearings carries side-by-side steel connecting rods.
