Jared McIsaac
Jared McIsaac (born March 27, 2000) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing with HC Litvínov in the Czech Extraliga (ELH). He was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round, 36th overall, of the 2018 NHL entry draft. Early life McIsaac was born on March 27, 2000, in Truro, Nova Scotia, to parents Jamie and Sandra. His father is a local ice hockey referee while his uncle Jon is a referee in the NHL. He grew up playing minor hockey in Truro before his family moved to Dartmouth in 2013. While playing peewee ice hockey in Cole Harbour, McIsaac moved from forward to defense when an opportunity opened on the roster. During his amateur career, McIsaac won a silver medal with Team Canada at the Youth Olympics and competed with Team Nova Scotia at the Gatorade Excellence Challenge. Truro, Nova Scotia
Truro (Scottish Gaelic: ''Trùru'') is a town in central Nova Scotia, Canada. Truro is the shire town of Colchester County and is located on the south side of the Salmon River (Nova Scotia), Salmon River floodplain, close to the river's mouth at the eastern end of Cobequid Bay. NHL Central Scouting Bureau
The NHL Central Scouting Services (CSS) is a department within the National Hockey League (NHL) that ranks prospects for the NHL entry draft at specific times during the hockey season. Players are ranked based on how well they will translate to the professional game in the NHL. It was founded by hockey executive Jack Button in 1975, to establish a centralized database of NHL prospects. Button served as the director until 1979. Its current director is Dan Marr. The Department consists of staff at the NHL Offices in Toronto, along with eight full-time scouts, and fifteen part-time scouts throughout North America. 2020 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2020 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''2020 WJHC'') was the 44th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship, held from 26 December 2019 to 5 January 2020. Canada defeated Russia 4–3 to win the gold medal and their 18th world junior hockey championship. This marks the fourth time that the Czech Republic hosted the WJHC. IIHF World U20 Championship
The IIHF World Junior Championship (WJC), sometimes referred to as World Juniors, is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) for national under-20 ice hockey teams from around the world. It is traditionally held in late December, ending in early January (beginning from Boxing Day to January 5). The tournament usually attracts the top hockey players in this age category. The main tournament features the top ten ranked hockey nations in the world, comprising the 'Top Division', from which a world champion is crowned. The Liiga, colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. The league comprises 16 teams from all around Finland with relegation and promotion between the Mestis. The winner of the Liiga playoffs is awarded the Kanada-malja at the end of each season.
