An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are sometimes used between the opposite-direction tracks on twin-track route stations as they are cheaper and occupy less area than other arrangements. Deportivo is a rapid transit station in San Juan agglomeration, Puerto Rico. It is located between Bayamón and Jardines on the sole line of the Tren Urbano system, in Bayamón, just outside of its downtown ( Bayamón Pueblo). The trial service ran in 2004, however, the regular service only started on 6 June 2005. Juan Sánchez is a barrio in the municipality of Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 22,951.
