Jangsu Hwang Clan
Jangsu Hwang clan () is one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan is in Jangsu County, North Jeolla Province. According to the research held in 2015, the number of Jangsu Hwang clan’s member was 170988. Hwang Rak (), a chief vassal in Han dynasty began Hwang clan in Korea. Hwang Rak () had an accident on sea on his way to Vietnam as an envoy in 28 during Emperor Guangwu of Han’s reign. Then, Hwang Rak () drifted ashore and was naturalized in Silla. , Hwang Rak ()’s descendant, became Prince of Jangsu and Jangsu Hwang clan’s founder. North Jeolla Province
North Jeolla Province, officially Jeonbuk State (), is a Special Self-governing Province of South Korea in the Honam region in the southwest of the Korean Peninsula. Jeonbuk borders the provinces of South Chungcheong to the north, North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang to the east and South Jeolla to the south. Authenticity The ancestral origins of many Korean clans of foreign origin cannot be historically verified outside of a clan's own genealogical records: the ones from the Joseon period, as well as several from the Goryeo period, can be considered historical and factual, but the ones dating before the Goryeo period are impossible to confirm. Emperor Guangwu of Han (; 15 January 5 BC29 March AD 57), born Liu Xiu (), courtesy name Wenshu (), was a Chinese monarch. Bon-gwan
Korean clans are groups of Koreans, Korean people that share the same Patrilineality, paternal ancestor. They are indicated by the combination of a ''bongwan'' () and a family name. Korean clans distinguish clans that happen to share the same family name. The ''bongwan'' identifies descent groups by Geography, geographic place of origin. For example, the Gyeongju Kim and the Gimhae Kim are considered different clans, even though they happen to share the same family name ''Kim (Korean name), Kim''. In this case, Gyeongju and Gimhae are the respective ''bongwan'' of these clans. However, a clan name is not treated as a part of a Korean person's name.
