Jangheung County () is a county in South Jeolla Province, South Korea. Slow city In 2007 Jangheung was designated as a slow city. It was the first slow city designation in Asia. Spot for filming ''Festival'' (1996) was filmed in Jangheung county by director Im Kwon-taek. Eulalia Jangheung's Cheonkwan Mt. is known for its scenery and eulalias. These plants reach full height around mid-September and until October. South Jeolla
South Jeolla Province (), formerly South Chŏlla Province, also known as Jeonnam (), is a province in the Honam region, South Korea, and the southernmost province in mainland Korea. South Jeolla borders the provinces of North Jeolla to the north, South Gyeongsang to the northeast, and Jeju to the southwest in the Korea Strait. Jeolla Dialect
The Jeolla dialect of the Korean language, also known as Southwestern Korean, is spoken in the Jeolla (Honam) region of South Korea, including the metropolitan city of Gwangju. This area was known as Jeolla Province during the Joseon era. However, it is believed that the dialect dates to the Baekje kingdom with Chungcheong Dialect. Like the Chungcheong dialect, the Jeolla dialect is considered non-standard. Pansori texts are written in the Jeolla dialect. Grammar Verb endings In place of the usual ''-seumnida'' (습니다 ) or ''-seyo'' (세요 ) endings, a southern Jeolla person will use ''-rau'' (라우 ) or ''-jirau'' (지라우 ) appended to the verb. For a causal verb ending, expressed in standard language with a ''-nikka'' (니까 ) ending, Jeolla people use ''-ngkkei'' (응게 ), so the past tense of the verb "did" ("because someone did it"), ''haesseunikka'' (했읍니까 ), becomes ''haesseungkke'' (했승게 ). Cittaslow is an organisation founded in Italy and inspired by the slow food movement. Cittaslow's goals include improving the quality of life in towns by slowing down its overall pace, especially in a city's use of spaces and the flow of life and traffic through them. History Cittaslow was founded in Italy in October 1999, following a meeting organised by the mayor of Greve in Chianti, Tuscany. A 54-point charter was developed, encouraging high quality local food and drink, general conviviality and the opposition to cultural standardisation. Yeongdo District () is a '' gu'' (district) in Busan, South Korea. The ''gu'' itself is limited to Yeong-do (''Yeong Island'') located on the south edge of central Busan.
