Jane National Park
Jane National Park is a national park in the South West region of Western Australia, south of Perth. It is located adjacent to the west of the much larger Shannon National Park, in the Shire of Manjimup. It is located in the Warren bioregion. Jane National Park was created in 2004 as Class A reserve No. 47666 with a size of by an act of parliament by the Parliament of Western Australia on 8 December 2004, as one of 19 national parks proclaimed in the state that day. The national park, on land whose traditional owners are the Bibbulman people, is predominantly made up of old growth forest. It was named after his daughter Jane by Pemberton forester-in-charge John D’Espessis in 1946, originally as Jane Forrest. National Parks Of Western Australia
Western Australia, as of 2023, has 112 national parks, of which all but four are named. The oldest of these, John Forrest National Park, John Forrest, was proclaimed in 1900 while the latest, Pimbee National Park, Pimbee and Bunuba National Park, Bunuba, were proclaimed in 2023. Bibbulmun Track
The Bibbulmun Track is a long-distance walk trail in Western Australia. It runs from Kalamunda in the east of Perth to Albany, and is long. It is managed by government agencies, and has a foundation. It traverses the Darling Range and has inspired reflections about the state of the Western Australian environment by William J. Lines in his book ''A long walk in the Australian bush''. The name comes from the Bibbulmun, or Noongar people, Indigenous Australians from the Perth area. Bibulman
The Bibulman (Pibelmen) are an Aboriginal Australian people of the southwestern region of Western Australia, a subgroup of the Noongar. Name Their autonym may be related to the word for stingray, ''pibilum''. Country Pibelmen lands comprised around of territory in the southwest. They were concentrated around the Lower Blackwood River and the hills between the Blackwood and the Warren River. Their eastern flank ran to Gardner River and Broke Inlet. Warren Bioregion
Warren, also known as Karri Forest Region and the Jarrah-Karri forest and shrublands ecoregion, is a biogeographic region in southern Western Australia. Located in the southwest corner of Western Australia between Cape Naturaliste and Albany, it is bordered to the north and east by the Jarrah Forest region. Its defining characteristic is an extensive tall forest of ''Eucalyptus diversicolor'' (karri). This occurs on dissected, hilly ground, with a moderately wet climate. Karri is a valuable timber and much of the karri forest has been logged over, but less than a third has been cleared for agriculture.
