Jane Chalmers
Jane Chalmers (born 10 March 1983) is an Australian professional basketball player who plays for the Bendigo Spirit in the Women's National Basketball League. Professional career College Chalmers began her college career at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa for the Iowa Central Tritons, from 2000 to 2002. After strong showings, Chalmers transferred to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri with the Bearcats, in NCAA Division II. WNBL After strong showings with Bendigo in the SEABL, Chalmers was invited to attend training with the incoming WNBL side, the Bendigo Spirit. Chalmers then made her professional debut with the Spirit in 2007. She has since been a consistent member of the Spirit roster. Guard (basketball)
Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different positions defined by the strategic role they play. Guard, forward and center are the three main position categories. The standard team features two guards, two forwards, and a center. The guards are typically called the "back court" and the forwards and centers the "front court". Northwest Missouri State Bearcats
The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats are the athletic teams for Northwest Missouri State University, located in Maryville, Missouri. The Bearcats play in the NCAA Division II. Northwest is a founding member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in 1912 and has remained in the conference ever since. From their founding until 1937, they competed in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). From 1937 to 1957, they competed in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics before joining NCAA Division II. Northwest has appeared in ten Division II football title games (winning six) since 1998. The men's basketball team appeared in an AAU title game in 1930, and won the Division II title in 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2022. Kelsey Griffin
Kelsey Michelle Griffin (born July 2, 1987) is an American-Australian professional women's basketball player. She was drafted 3rd overall in the 2010 WNBA draft. Griffin played college basketball with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Griffin was named to many All-America teams and was the winner of the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. Griffin is currently playing for the University of Canberra Capitals in the Australian WNBL. Gabrielle Richards (born 19 November 1984) is an Australian professional basketball player. Career WNBL Richards began her WNBL career with the Australian Institute of Sport. She would then return to Victoria and play for the newest franchise, the Bendigo Spirit. During her time with the Spirit, Richards has won two WNBL Championships alongside the likes of Kristi Harrower and Kelsey Griffin. Richards is also a two-time awardee to the WNBL All-Star Five. NCAA Division II (D-II) is the intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
