Jane Carpanini
Jane Carpanini (born 1949) is a British artist and teacher, known for her watercolour paintings. Biography Carpanini was born in Streatley in Bedfordshire. She attended Luton College of Technology during 1967 and 1968 before studying art at Brighton Polytechnic between 1968 and 1971 and then at the School of Education at the University of Reading from 1972 to 1973. After graduation from Reading she taught at a number of schools, including the Oundle School and the Kings High School for Girls in Warwick, where she served as head of Art and Design. In 1977 Carpanini was elected a member of the Royal West of England Academy and to the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Watercolour Society, RWS, the following year. She eventually served as the honorary treasurer of the RWS. In 1984 Carpanini won the Hunting Art Prize. Streatley, Bedfordshire
Streatley is a village and civil parish in the Central Bedfordshire district of Bedfordshire, England. Geography Streatley is situated just to the west of the A6, and is the first village on the A6 north of Luton, being about north of central Luton. Nearby villages are Lower Sundon, further to the west, Sharpenhoe, 1.5 miles north, and Barton-le-Clay, a somewhat larger village about 1.5 miles north, on the eastern side of the A6. The parish covers the village of Streatley along with Sharpenhoe. In the south of the parish it covers both sides of the A6, bordering Luton to the south and North Hertfordshire district of Hertfordshire to the east. North of the village of Streatley, the parish is entirely to the west of the A6. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,707. Frances Spalding
Frances Spalding (née Crabtree, born 16 July 1950) is a British art historian, writer and a former editor of ''The Burlington Magazine''. Life Frances Crabtree studied at the University of Nottingham and gained her PhD for a study of Roger Fry. She taught art history at Sheffield City Polytechnic (19781988) before becoming a freelance writer and curator. She returned to academic work to take up the post of professor of Art History at Newcastle University in 2000. Spalding specialises in 20th-century British art, biography and cultural history and her work includes 15 major books, essays, criticism and reviews. She curated the 2003 exhibition "John Piper in the 1930s: Abstraction on the Beach" at Dulwich Picture Gallery in south London. She has also written a study of poet Stevie Smith and a biography of John and Myfanwy Piper. Aberystwyth () is a University town, university and seaside town as well as a community (Wales), community in Ceredigion, Wales. Located in the Historic counties of Wales, historic county of Cardiganshire, means "the mouth of the River Ystwyth, Ystwyth". Aberystwyth University has been a major educational location in Wales since the establishment of University College Wales in 1872.
