Janata Dal (Bidhuri)
Janata Dal (Bidhuri) was a faction in the Legislative Assembly of Delhi, Delhi Legislative Assembly. JD (Bidhuri) was formed after a split in the Legislative Assembly group of Janata Dal. JD (Bidhuri) was led by Ramvir Singh Bidhuri (National General Secretary of JD and leader of the JD group in the Delhi Legislative Assembly), flanked by fellow Members of the Legislative Assembly Parvez Hashmi and Mateen Ahmed. JD (Bidhuri) broke away from JD on 30 March 1996. On 2 April 1996 JD (Bidhuri) requested the Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Charti Lal Goel, to recognize them as a separate group. The request was granted immediately, as JD (Bidhuri) gathered at least one-third of the legislators of JD (the sole JD legislator that did not side with Bidhuri was Shoaib Iqbal).Election Commission of India. Ramvir Singh Bidhuri
Ramvir Singh Bidhuri (born 4 December 1952) is the current Member of Parliament for South Delhi Lok Sabha 2024, having won by a large margin on a BJP ticket in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. He was a four-time MLA from Delhi's Badarpur seat. He served as the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Vidhan Sabha from 2020 to 2024, and he was a member of the Badarpur Vidhan Sabha in Delhi from 1993 to 1998, 2003 to 2008, 2013 to 2015, and 2020 to 2024. In 2024, he was nominated the BJP's candidate for the South Delhi constituency in Delhi, succeeding two-time MP Ramesh Bidhuri.
