Jan Petter Rasmussen (born 1 June 1947) is a Norwegian politician. He was born in Stavanger to Otto Rasmussen and Jenny Bakke. Rasmussen served as mayor of Eigersund from 1990 to 1996. Stavanger, officially the Stavanger Municipality, is a city and municipalities of Norway, municipality in Norway. It is the third largest city and third largest metropolitan area in Norway (through conurbation with neighboring Sandnes) and the administrative center of Rogaland county.
