Jan Kotouč
Jan Kotouč (born 1987) is a Czech military science fiction and space opera author. He is the author of several science fiction books and creator of Hirano Sector universe. Early life Kotouč graduated from University of New York in Prague/La Salle University in 2013, with a master's degree in Mass Media and Communication. Writing career Kotouč began writing short fan fiction stories taking place in the Star Wars universe, which he published on a Czech fan fiction website Jediland. He eventually began to write stories from his own created universe, Hirano Sector, a place on the verge of large scale inter-planetary conflict. In 2008 his novella from Hirano universe, ''Příliš blízké setkání'' (Eng: ''Too Close Encounter'') won the Czech Cena Karla Čapka award in its category. Jiří Walker Procházka
Jiří Walker Procházka (born 18 August 1959), also known by the pseudonym George P. Walker, is a Czech sci-fi and detective fiction author. In 1989, Procházka described himself as "the permanent political prisoner" because he had lived since his birth in communist Czechoslovakia. Career His professional career started at the Research Institute for High Voltage Electronics (VÚSE) in Prague in 1982. He then worked for some time in a printers, during which time he wrote his first stories (around 1985). Afterwards, Procházka worked as an IT specialist, later becoming a writer and publisher. He was part of a wave of new authors that emerged from 1980 to 1990. His story ''Rox'n'Roll'' was written in 1988. described Procházka as "a striking element in the Czech sci-fi waters" whose "highly imaginative stories became examples for a good many followers." Miroslav Žamboch
Miroslav Žamboch (born 13 January 1972) is a Czech physicist and author known for writing novels and short stories in the science fiction and fantasy genres. A native of the Moravian town of Hranice, Miroslav Žamboch graduated with a degree in physics from the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. He works at the Institute for Nuclear Studies and, since the mid-1990s, has written over twenty novels and several collections of short stories. In 2011, upon the occasion of his work translation to Korean, he has been described as a representative of the most recent generation of Czech science fiction and fantasy writers. As of 2013 at least seventeen of his books have been translated into Polish. A novella is a narrative prose fiction whose length is shorter than most novels, but longer than most novelettes and short stories.
