Jan E. Mellbye
Jan Egeberg Mellbye (13 July 1913 – 19 February 2009) was a Norwegian farmer and politician for the Centre Party (Norway), Centre Party. He was born in Nes, Hedmark as a son of politician Johan E. Mellbye (1866–1954) and Emelie Pettersson (1879–1954). He was married to Tora Bjørn-Hansen (1921–1968), a daughter of ship-owner Arne Bjørn-Hansen. He graduated from Oslo Commerce School in 1932 and Jønsberg Agricultural School in 1934. After practising agronomy in Sweden he also worked as a bookkeeper. From 1938 he managed the family farm, the former noble seat Grefsheim, and owned it from 1947. He was a member of Nes municipal council (Norway), municipal council from 1948 to 1962. He was a board member of the Norwegian Agrarian Association from 1958 to 1965, and chaired the organization from 1969 to 1974. He was later an honorary member. Centre Party (Norway)
The Centre Party ( no, Senterpartiet, Sp; se, Guovddášbellodat), formerly the Farmer's Party ( no, Bondepartiet, Bp), is an agrarian political party in Norway. Ideologically, the Centre Party is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, it advocates for economic nationalist and protectionist policy to protect Norwegian farmers with toll tariffs, and it supports decentralisation. It was founded in 1920 as the Farmers' Party ( no, link=no, Bondepartiet, Bp) and from its founding until 2000, the Centre Party joined only governments not led by the Labour Party, although it had previously supported a Labour government in the 1930s. This turned around in 2005, when the party joined the red–green coalition government led by the Labour Party. Hans Haga
Hans Haga (8 December 1924 – 22 June 2008) was a Norwegian agrarian leader. He spent most of his career in the Norwegian Agrarian Association. He was first hired as a secretary for the county chapter in Oppland in 1952, and became press consultant nationally in 1954. In 1965 he became a member of the board, from 1974 to 1980 he was chairman of the organization and from 1980 to 1988 he was secretary general. He then worked as an advisor until retiring in 1992. For many years, the Norwegian Agrarian Association had cose ties with the Centre Party. Hans Haga hailed from Nannestad, but settled in Nes. He died in a nursing home there. Hedemarken Potetmelfabrikk
Hedmarken (, ; known as ''Hedemarken'' until 2003) is a traditional district in Innlandet county in Eastern Norway. Hedmarken consists of the municipalities Stange, Hamar, Løten, and Ringsaker. In the past, it also contained the municipalities of Romedal, Vang, Furnes, and Nes, but those municipalities were merged into Hamar, Stange, and Ringsaker during the 20th century. Traditionally, it also included Gjøvik on the other side of the lake, but this is no longer the case. The old county of Hedmark was named after the district of Hedmarken, but the county included several other districts as well, namely Østerdalen and Glåmdalen (Solør, Odalen and Vinger).
