Jan Dobrzyński
Jan Dobrzyński (born September 24, 1958, in Knyszyn) is a Polish politician, local government official and engineer, senator of the 7th and 9th terms and from January 2006 to January 2007 Voivode of Podlaskie Voivodeship. Biography In 2004, he graduated from the Faculty of Environmental Protection of the Higher School of Environmental Protection in Bydgoszcz. In the years 1976–1998 he worked in various plants in Białystok, then until 2002 he sat on the city board. He has been a member of "Solidarity" since 1980, and in the years 1993–1995 he was a member of its regional board. From 1990 he was a member of the Centre Agreement. In the years 1998–2006, he was a councilor of the city council. In 1998 elected from the Solidarity Electoral Action list, in 2002 from the Law and Justice list and he was the chairman of the PiS councilors' club, as well as the director of the parliamentary and senatorial office of Krzysztof Jurgiel from 2001 to 2006. Knyszyn
Knyszyn (, ) is a town in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, northwest of Białystok. It is situated on the Jaskranka River, within the historic region of Podlachia. History In 1358 the territory became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, soon afterwards in personal union with Poland. It was the property of Court Marshal of Lithuania Michael Glinski until confiscated and passed to the Grand Chancellor of Lithuania Mikołaj Radziwiłł in 1507. In 1569 it was re-incorporated into the Kingdom of Poland. Solidarity Electoral Action (, AWS) was a coalition of political parties in Poland, active from 1996 to 2001. Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 25 October 2015. All 460 members of the Sejm and 100 senators of the Senate of Poland, Senate were elected. The Podlaskie Voivodeship Sejmik () is the regional legislature of the Voivodeship of Podlaskie. It is a unicameral parliamentary body consisting of thirty councillors elected to a five-year term. The current chairperson of the assembly is Cezary Cieślukowski. The assembly elects the executive board that acts as the collective executive for the regional government, headed by the province's marshal. The current Executive Board of Podlaskie is held by the coalition government of Civic Coalition and Third Way and supported by two PiS members with Łukasz Prokorym, KO presiding as marshal. Tadeusz Truskolaski (born 10 April 1958) is a Polish economist and politician. A member of the Civic Platform ''(Platforma Obywatelska)'' party, he has been the president (mayor) of the Polish city of Białystok since 5 December 2006, succeeding Ryszard Tur of the Christian National Union. Since 2011 he is a member of the European Alliance Group at the European Committee of the Regions.
