Jamuna Television (; in reference to the Jamuna river), commonly known as Jamuna TV, stylized as ᴊamuna, tv, is a privately owned Bangladeshi satellite and cable news and current affairs television channel. It is owned by the Jamuna Group, and was founded by the company's founder and former chairman Nurul Islam Babul in 2014. The channel's headquarters are located in the Jamuna Future Park Complex at Progoti Shoroni in Baridhara. On YouTube, Jamuna Television is the second most subscribed Bangladeshi YouTube channel after Somoy TV. History In 2002, Jamuna Television was granted an NOC certificate to broadcast for five years. Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited (BSCL) is a Bangladesh Government owned company formed with the aim to operate the country's first satellite, the Bangladesh Satellite-1. History Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited was established on 15 August 2017. The company had been authorized a capital of 50 billion BDT and paid capital of five billion BDT. The decision to form the company was approved at a Cabinet of Bangladesh meeting in July 2017. The company is managed by SPARRSO which is the national space agency of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Satellite-1 (BS-1) formerly known as Bangabandhu Satellite-1 (BS-1) is the first Bangladeshi Geostationary orbit, geostationary communications Broadcasting-satellite service, and broadcasting satellite. It was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space and launched on 12 May 2018 from Kennedy Space Center, United States, USA.
