Jamienne S. Studley is the president and CEO of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), a regional accrediting agency serving a diverse membership of public and private higher education institutions throughout California, Hawaii, and the Pacific, as well as a limited number of institutions outside the U.S. Studley served under President Barack Obama as the deputy under secretary for the United States Department of Education, U.S. Department of Education from September 2013 to January 2016. She was the first female president of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) was an organization providing accreditation of public and private universities, colleges, secondary and elementary schools in California and Hawaii, the territories of Guam, American Samoa and Northern Marianas Islands, in addition to the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, the Pacific Rim, Peru, Czech Republic, Armenia, and East Asia. Until 2012, WASC was a single organization with three units. Barnard College of Columbia University is a private women's liberal arts college in the borough of Manhattan in New York City.
