Jamie Chalker
Jamie Chalker APM is a former police officer and public servant in the Northern Territory of Australia. He served as Commissioner of the Northern Territory Police Force from November 2019 to April 2023, when he resigned under pressure, seven months before his contract was due to expire. Career Chalker was born in Katherine, Northern Territory and spent much of his early life in Alice Springs. He began his career in the Northern Territory Police Force in 1994, where he remained served in various roles, much of the time in remote localities. In 2012 he was appointed Assistant Commissioner, with several stints as deputy commissioner and acting commissioner. In 2016 he was appointed chief executive officer of the Department of Local Government, Housing and Community Development. Harold Salisbury
Donald Allan Dunstan (21 September 1926 – 6 February 1999) was an Australian politician who served as the 35th premier of South Australia from 1967 to 1968, and again from 1970 to 1979. He was a member of the House of Assembly (MHA) for the division of Norwood from 1953 to 1979, and leader of the South Australian Branch of the Australian Labor Party from 1967 to 1979. Before becoming premier, Dunstan served as the 38th attorney-general of South Australia and the treasurer of South Australia. He is the fourth longest serving premier in South Australian history. In the late 1950s, Dunstan became well known for his campaign against the death penalty being imposed on Max Stuart, who was convicted of rape and murder of a small girl, opposing then-Premier Thomas Playford over the matter. Ray Whitrod
Raymond Wells Whitrod, (16 April 1915 – 11 July 2003) was an Australian police officer and criminologist. He was considered a world leader in the way society treats victims of crime. He was known as a man of high professional standards, with a commitment to justice, equity and integrity. He became best known for his term as Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service, resigning in protest in 1976 at the corruption then endemic in Queensland, and in particular over the appointment by the Premier of Queensland, Joh Bjelke-Petersen, of Terry Lewis as Assistant Commissioner. Daguragu, Northern Territory
Daguragu, previously also known as Wattie Creek by the Gurindji people as it is situated on a tributary of the Victoria River, is a locality in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is located about south of the territory capital of Darwin and located about south-west of the municipal seat in Katherine. It is around north-west of Kalkarindji. Daguragu community is situated on Aboriginal land held under perpetual title; it was also formerly a local government area until its amalgamation into the Victoria Daly Shire on 1 July 2008. In 2020, a native title claim lodged in 2016 was successfully settled, giving native title rights to the Gurindji people to of the Wave Hill Station.
