James Wong (bishop)
James Richard Wong Yin Song (born 13 January 1960) is a Mauritian-Seychellois Anglican bishop. He was the fourth bishop of The Seychelles from 2009 to 2025 the archbishop and Primate (bishop), primate of the Anglican Province of the Indian Ocean from 2017 to 2024,. Ecclesiastical career Wong was ordained an Anglican priest in 1983. He was afterwards the archdeacon of Mauritius and the Rector (ecclesiastical), rector of St Thomas' Beau Bassin. He was elected the fourth bishop of the Diocese of the Seychelles in 2009. Wong was granted Seychelles citizenship on 11 May 2017. He was elected archbishop of the Province of the Indian Ocean, at the provincial synod, held at St. Andrew's Church, Quatre-Bornes, Mauritius, on 26 August 2017, assuming office the following day. Wong is a supporter of the Anglican realignment. He attended Global Anglican Future Conference, GAFCON III, in Jerusalem, on 17–22 June 2018. James Alexander L. S. Wong (born 26 May 1981) is a British ethnobotanist, television presenter and garden designer. He is best known for presenting the award-winning series '' Grow Your Own Drugs'' and the BBC and PBS series ''Secrets of Your Food'', as well as being a panelist on the Radio 4 series '' Gardeners' Question Time''. Early life Born at St Bartholomew's Hospital in the City of London to a Bornean father and a Welsh mother from Newport, Wong was brought up in Singapore and Malaysia. Datuk James Wong Chye Fook (born 26 June 1953) is a Malaysian former footballer who is a striker for Malaysian national football team and Sabah. He also played as a goalkeeper for the Malaysia youth team in the 1971 AFC Youth Championship. He was known as ''King James'' by the local fans. James Wong Kim Min (; Pha̍k-fa-sṳ: ''Vòng Kîm-mìn'') (6 August 1922 – 18 July 2011) was a Malaysian politician active in the politics of Sarawak for decades. Wong holds the record as the longest serving assemblyman in the history of the state of Sarawak, holding the office for nearly fifty years. Wong served as the first Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak and the president of the Sarawak National Party (SNAP). He held several other ministries of Sarawak politics until his retirement in 2001. James Wong Jim (; 18 March 1941 – 24 November 2004, also known as "霑叔" or "Uncle Jim") was a Cantopop lyricist and songwriter based primarily in Hong Kong. Beginning from the 1960s, he was the lyricist for over 2,000 songs, collaborating with songwriter Joseph Koo ( Koo Kar-Fai) on many popular television theme songs, many of which have become classics of the genre. Wong Tung Jim, A.S.C. (; August 28, 1899 – July 12, 1976), known professionally as James Wong Howe (Houghto), was a Chinese-born American cinematographer who worked on over 130 films. During the 1930s and 1940s, he was one of the most sought after cinematographers in Hollywood due to his innovative filming techniques. Howe was known as a master of the use of shadow and one of the first to use deep-focus cinematography, in which both foreground and distant planes remain in focus.
