James Wilson (1770 – September 1, 1847) was an England, English-born farmer and political figure in Upper Canada. He represented Prince Edward County, Ontario, Prince Edward in the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada from 1808 to 1810, from 1820 to 1830 and from 1834 to 1836 as a Reformer. He received a land grant in Sophiasburgh Township, Ontario, Sophiasburgh. Wilson was a Methodist. His election in 1808 was declared invalid in 1810, but he was reelected in 1820, 1825, 1828 and 1834. James D. "Jim" Wilson is an American politician who served as a Colorado State Representative for the 60th district from January 9, 2013 to January 13, 2021. Captain James Wilson (1760–1814), commanded the British ship ''Duff'', which the London Missionary Society contracted in 1797 to convey a team of missionaries (consisting of thirty men, six women, and three children) to their postings in Tahiti, Tonga, and the Marquesas Islands. Life Wilson was born in 1760. He had been a British soldier during the American War of Independence and then he had worked for the East India Company. He had been an adventurer who was noted for not being religious. Eventually he had enough money to retire and it was during his retirement that he was converted to Christianity. He heard of the formation of a missionary society via the ''Evangelical Magazine''. His track record made him the focus of their efforts. James Clifton Wilson (June 21, 1874 – August 3, 1951) was a United States representative from Texas and was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Education and career Wilson was born on June 21, 1874, in Palo Pinto, Palo Pinto County, Texas. He attended the public schools and graduated from Weatherford College in 1889. He received a Bachelor of Laws from University of Texas School of Law in 1896 and was admitted to the bar the same year. He was in private practice of law in Weatherford, Texas from 1896 to 1902. He was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of Parker County, Texas from 1898 to 1900. He was the Prosecuting Attorney of Parker County from 1902 to 1912. James Charles Wilson
James Charles Wilson (24 August 1816 – 7 February 1861) was an early settler of Texas and later a state legislator. Wilson was born in Yorkshire, England, on August 21, 1818. He immigrated to the Republic of Texas in 1836. In 1842 he joined Charles K. Reese in the ill-fated Somervell Expedition. Captured while serving with the company, he managed to escape on 30 July 1843. He lived in Brazoria, Texas, where he became district clerk before representing Calhoun, Jackson, Matagorda, and Wharton counties in the House of Representatives of the Third and Fourth Legislatures from 1848 to 1853. In 1856 he became commissioner of the Court of Claims. In addition to his legal career, Wilson also served as a Methodist minister. He died in Gonzales on 7 February 1861. Wilson was originally buried in Askey Cemetery near Gonzales but later was moved to the Texas State Cemetery in Austin. James "Tama Jim" Wilson (August 16, 1835 – August 26, 1920) was an American politician who served as United States secretary of agriculture for sixteen years during three presidencies, from 1897 to 1913. He holds the record as the longest serving United States Cabinet member. Personal background and family Wilson was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, on August 16, 1835. One of 14 children, he grew up in a farming community near the birthplace of Robert Burns. His family emigrated to America in 1852, settling in Connecticut before moving to Iowa in 1855, establishing a farm near Traer, Iowa, Traer in Tama County, Iowa, Tama County.
