James Roe (racing Driver)
James Roe Jr. (born 11 October 1998) is an Irish racing driver. He currently competes in Indy NXT driving the No. 29 Honda for Andretti Autosport and in the IMSA SportsCar Championship driving for Pratt Miller Motorsports. He previously drove for TJ Speed Motorsports in 2022. Roe previously competed in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship with Turn 3 Motorsport. Roe is a nephew of former racing driver Michael Roe. Racing career Indy Pro 2000 On February 22, 2021, it was announced that Roe would be joining Turn 3 Motorsport to compete in the 2021 Indy Pro 2000 Championship. Roe managed to get his first win of the season at the final race in Mid-Ohio, finishing ahead of Enaam Ahmed and 2021 series champion, Christian Rasmussen. The 2020 Formula Regional Americas Championship powered by Honda was the third season for the FIA Formula 3 regional series across North America. The series was sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, the professional racing division of the Sports Car Club of America. The 2023 Firestone Indy NXT Series was the 37th season of the Indy NXT Open wheel car, open wheel motor racing series and the 21st sanctioned by IndyCar, acting as the primary support series for the IndyCar Series. Known as Indy Lights before 2023, the championship was rebranded following its acquisition by Penske Entertainment, the owner of the IndyCar Series, in 2022. HMD Motorsports is an American racing team in the Indy NXT series. The team is owned by Henry Malukas. Indy NXT (2019–present) 2019 The origins of HMD Motorsports traces back to BN Racing's Indy Lights operation as the team had entered the 2019 Indy Lights series. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a road course auto racing facility located in Troy Township, Morrow County, Ohio, United States, just outside the village of Lexington. Michael Roe (racing Driver)
Michael Roe (born 8 August 1955) is a former racing driver from Naas, Ireland. Roe began racing in Formula Ford and won the 1978 Formula Ford Festival. The following year he drove in British Formula Three and finished in 9th place in his rookie campaign with 2 podium finishes for David Clark's team. In 1983 he moved to the United States to compete in the single-seat Can-Am series where he finished 8th in the championship. In 1984 Roe won 7 of the 10 rounds of the series on his way to dominating the championship, setting a series record for wins in a season as well as poles in a season (all 10 rounds). The following year Roe competed in CART Championship Car racing and made four starts for Hemelgarn Racing with a best finish of 7th at Portland followed up by an 8th-place finish later that month at Meadowlands Racetrack.
