Jim Reid (folk Musician)
Jim Reid (5 May 1934 – 6 July 2009) was a Scotland, Scottish folk musician who was born in Dundee. Many of his songs are about his home town of Dundee and the people and places of the surrounding county of Angus, Scotland, Angus. Biography The first folk group Reid was in was The Taysiders in the 1970s, but he became better known as the driving force behind The Foundry Bar Band from Arbroath recording three albums with them in the 1980s. Later Reid partnered up with the Dundee accordionist John Huband, to record the album ''Freewheeling Now''. Reid's solo work has included his debut in 1984 ''I Saw The Wild Geese Flee'', followed by ''The Better o a Sang'' in 1996, ''Emfae Dundee'' in 2001 and ''Yont the Tay'' in 2005. In 2005, Reid released a songbook with a collection of his own songs titled after his second album ''The Better o a Sang''. James T. Reid (born December 1, 1950) is an American college football coach and former player. He is an analyst for the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a position he held since 2023. Reid served as head football coach at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) from 1986 to 1991, University of Richmond from 1995 through 2003, and Virginia Military Institute (VMI) from 2006 until 2007, compiling an overall college football record of 87–101–3. Playing career Reid played football at the University of Maine before graduating in 1973. James Brown Willis Reid (1 May 1913 – 3 September 1983) was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1930s. Reid played predominantly on the wings where he was noted for his speedy bursts and drop kicks but was also used at half forward.
