James Paul Kelly
James Paul Kelly (March 11, 1911 - November 6, 1972) was an American Republican politician from Trenton, Missouri, who served in the Missouri General Assembly. He served in the Missouri Senate between 1955 and 1967. Born in Pleasant Hill, Illinois, he was educated in the public schools of Pleasant Hill, Illinois and later at Kemper Military School in Boonville, Missouri and at the University of Missouri. In 1935, he married Caroline C. Hyde in Trenton, Missouri. Trenton is a city in Grundy County, Missouri, United States. The population was 5,609 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Grundy County. The city used to be the world's largest producer of vienna sausages (at its biggest employer, the ConAgra Grocery Foods plant, now owned by Nestlé). Its members serve four-year terms, with half the seats being up for election every two years. Pleasant Hill is a village in Pike County, Illinois, United States. The population was 966 at the 2010 census. Pleasant Hill is the site of the annual Pike County Fair, as well as the location of the Bi-State Annual Demolition Derby, which was previously held at Six Flags St. Louis in Eureka, Missouri. Boonville is a city and the county seat of Cooper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 7,964 at the 2020 census. The city was the site of a skirmish early in the Civil War, on July 17, 1861. Union forces defeated the Missouri State Guard in the first Battle of Boonville. The United States Strategic Bombing Survey (USSBS) was a written report created by a board of experts assembled to produce an impartial assessment of the effects of the Anglo-American strategic bombing of Nazi Germany during the European theatre of World War II. After publishing its report, the Survey members then turned their attention to the war efforts against Imperial Japan during the Pacific War, including a separate section on the recent use of the atomic bomb, Little Boy. In total, the reports contained 208 volumes for Europe and another 108 for the Pacific, comprising thousands of pages. The reports' conclusions were generally favorable about the contributions of Allied strategic bombing towards victory, calling it "decisive".
