James Gallagher (Australian Footballer)
James Gallagher (born 17 November 1979) is an Australian rules footballer who played with Adelaide in the Australian Football League (AFL). Gallagher, a Sacred Heart College alumni, was the third generation of his family to play for Norwood. Both his grandfather Sam Gallagher, and uncle Phil Gallagher, played for Norwood and South Australia. A midfielder, he was promoted from the Adelaide Rookie List in 2001 and played four seasons for the club, often coming off the bench. He has gone on to play over 200 games for Norwood and has been club captain since 2007. He won back to back best and fairest awards in 2007 and 2008. James Andrew Gallagher (born September 3, 1985) is an American former professional baseball first baseman and outfielder in minor league baseball organization of the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Prior to beginning his professional career, he played college baseball at Duke University. Gallagher has also competed for the United States national baseball team. Career Gallagher attended Peters Township High School in McMurray, Pennsylvania and Duke University, where he played college baseball for the Duke Blue Devils baseball team in the Atlantic Coast Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I. The Most Rev. James Gallagher (died 1751), was a Roman Catholic bishop. Life Gallagher was a member of the Ulster sept of ''Ó Galchobhair'', anglicised Gallagher. He was born about 1684, possibly near Kinlough, a village in the north of County Leitrim in the north of Connacht, and was educated at the Irish College in Paris, where he received an MA in 1715. He entered the priesthood of the Catholic Church, and was consecrated Bishop of Raphoe, whose diocese covered most of County Donegal, in November 1725 at Drogheda. Bishop Gallagher administered his diocese, the Diocese of Raphoe, until 1735, when he left due to threats to his safety in regards to the Penal Laws. It has been reported that he went to an island in Lough Erne, where he worked on the sermons which he published the following year.
