James Findlay (MP)
James Findlay (May 16, 1833 – July 23, 1923) was an Ontario newspaper owner and political figure. He represented Renfrew North (federal electoral district), Renfrew North in the House of Commons of Canada as a Liberal Party of Canada, Liberal member from 1873 to 1874. He was born in Châteauguay in Lower Canada in 1833, the son of Robert Findlay, a Scotland, Scottish immigrant. He was owner and editor of the ''Pembroke Observer''. Findlay was an unsuccessful candidate for a seat in the House of Commons in an 1869 by-election. He was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1878 and 1887. Findlay died in Pembroke, Ontario, Pembroke at the age of 90. References

James Findlay (5 October 1854 – 19 October 1924) was the 15th mayor of Vancouver, British Columbia. Born in Montreal, he moved to Vancouver in June 1887. James Findlay (Cincinnati Mayor)
James B. Findlay (October 12, 1770December 28, 1835) was an American merchant, politician and veteran of the War of 1812, having served with both the state militia and the United States Army. He was based in Cincinnati, Ohio after migrating there as a young man. He was elected as mayor of Cincinnati to two non-successive terms. For defenses in the War of 1812, he supervised construction of Fort Findlay, which was named for him. In 1824, he was elected to multiple terms in the US House of Representatives, serving from 1825 to 1833. Early life Findlay was born in Mercersburg in the Province of Pennsylvania, to Samuel Findlay and Jane Smith. He had two older brothers, John and William. James Leslie Findlay
James Leslie Findlay (30 April 1868 – 19 September 1952) was a Scottish architect and soldier. James Leslie Findlay was the younger son of John Ritchie Findlay and Susan Leslie. He practised as an architect in Edinburgh between 1885 and 1915. Initially apprenticed to A G Sydney Mitchell, he went into partnership with James Bow Dunn in 1894. The Dunn & Findlay partnership's most notable building is probablThe Scotsman buildingin Edinburgh's North Bridge, begun in 1898, now The Scotsman Hotel. Findlay served in the Great War, reaching the rank of Lt Colonel, commanding the First Lowland Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery in France. Air Commodore James Lloyd Findlay (6 October 1895 – 17 March 1983) was a New Zealand soldier and air force officer who served in both World Wars. Early life and family Findlay was born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1895, the second son of Sir John Findlay, and was educated at Wellington College. First World War Findlay had been studying in England at the outbreak of the First World War and was commissioned as an officer in the East Surrey Regiment. He distinguished himself during the Battle of Loos in September 1915 and the Battle of the Somme in July 1916, and was decorated with the Military Cross and mentioned in despatches. Findlay was also awarded the Croix de Chevalier of the Légion d’honneur by France in recognition of his gallantry.
