James Ellsworth (industrialist)
James William Ellsworth (October 13, 1849 – June 2, 1925) was an American industrialist and a Pennsylvania coal mine owner. The coal town of Ellsworth, Pennsylvania is named after him. He also served as president of the Caxton Club and the Jekyll Island Club. Ellsworth married Eva Francis Butler on November 4, 1874. They had two children, Lincoln and Claire, before his wife died in 1888 at the age of 36. In 1895, Ellsworth married Julia Clarke Fincke, who died in 1921 at the age of 74. In 1907, following the completion of the Monongahela Railway, Ellsworth sold the coal mines to Bethlehem Steel and purchased the Villa Palmieri, Fiesole, in Florence, Italty, in part to further his interests as a collector of art and rare coins. James Ellsworth Morris (born December 11, 1984), is an American professional wrestler, better known by the ring name James Ellsworth. He is best known for his tenure with WWE. Ellsworth began his career in 2002 and worked for 14 years on the independent circuit as Jimmy Dream. In 2016, he had a squash match against Braun Strowman in WWE. He became famous with the quote “any man with two hands has a fighting chance”. After this appearance, he became very popular with the fans and, months later, WWE signed him to a contract. He was subsequently featured in a high-profile storyline between Dean Ambrose and then- WWE Champion AJ Styles. Later, he began a storyline where he became the manager of Carmella. After his departure from WWE in 2018, he created his own championship, dubbed the Intergender Championship, which he defended in various promotions on the independent circuit. Duquesne Spy Ring
The Duquesne Spy Ring is the largest espionage case in the United States history that ended in convictions. A total of 33 members of a Nazi German espionage network, headed by Frederick "Fritz" Duquesne, were convicted after a lengthy investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Of those indicted, 19 pleaded guilty. The remaining 14 were brought to jury trial in Federal District Court, Brooklyn, New York, on September 3, 1941; all were found guilty on December 13, 1941. On January 2, 1942, the group members were sentenced to serve a total of over 300 years in prison. James Ellsworth De Kay
James Ellsworth De Kay (alternatively spelled DeKay or Dekay) (October 12, 1792 – November 21, 1851) was an American zoologist. Biography James De Kay was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1792. When he was two years old, his family moved to New York City, New York; both his parents died while he was still quite young. He attended Yale from 1807 to 1812, but was expelled before completing his degree when he threatened a college tutor with a club. Later, he studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, receiving his Doctor of Medicine, MD in 1819. After his return to the United States, he married Janet Eckford, a daughter of Henry Eckford (shipbuilder), Henry Eckford, a ship builder. He then traveled with his father-in-law to Turkey as a ship's physician, and published a book, ''Sketches of Turkey in 1831 and 1832,'' about these travels. James Ellsworth Noland (April 22, 1920 – August 12, 1992) was a United States representative from Indiana and a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Education Born in La Grange, Missouri, Noland received an Artium Baccalaureus degree from Indiana University Bloomington in 1942 and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1943.
