James Brown (quarterback)
James Brown (born May 17, 1975) is a former American football quarterback. He was the Starting lineup, starting quarterback of the University of Texas at Austin, Texas Texas Longhorns football, Longhorns from 1994 to 1997. At the time, he was only the second African American, black quarterback to guide Texas through an entire season (after Donnie Little in 1978), and is credited for "opening doors" for future black quarterbacks at Texas, such as Casey Thompson and Vince Young. Bowl Alliance
The Bowl Alliance was an agreement among college football bowl games (specifically the Sugar, Orange, and Fiesta Bowls) for the purpose of trying to match the top two teams in a national championship game and to provide quality bowl game matchups for the champions of its member conferences. The agreement, which replaced the Bowl Coalition, was in place for the 1995, 1996, and 1997 seasons. Richard Walton (American Football)
Richard Wade Walton is a former American football quarterback. He was the starting quarterback of the Texas Longhorns in early 1998. He was the backup quarterback for James Brown for three years before winning the starting job as a 5th year Senior. He started for the first two games in 1998 but broke his hand against UCLA and as a result lost his starting job to Major Applewhite. Shea Brian Morenz (born January 22, 1974) is an American businessman, strategist, philanthropist, and the CEO & President of Morenz Group and Bobcat Group. Morenz played collegiate football and baseball at the University of Texas before being drafted by the New York Yankees organization in the first round of the 1995 Major League Baseball draft. Early life and education Shea attended San Angelo Central High, where he excelled in academics and athletics and was named a First Team High School All American in both football and baseball. Vincent Paul Young Jr. (born May 18, 1983) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback for six seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Casey Thompson (born October 3, 1998) is an American college football quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners. He previously played for Texas, Nebraska, and Florida Atlantic. Early life Thompson played his first three years of high school football at Southmoore High School in Moore, Oklahoma. During his last season at Southmoore he threw for 2,730 yards and 28 touchdowns.
