James Anthony Brown
James Anthony Brown OBE (born 5 January 1950) is a Manx politician and businessman who was the Chief Minister of the Isle of Man from 2006 until October 2011, when he stepped down from office following his decision to retire. Early life and career Born on 5 January 1950, Brown was educated at Victoria Road Primary, Castletown and Castle Rushen High School and has since been an electrician, being the proprietor of Tony Brown Electrics in Castletown until its closure in 2010. He was elected as a member of Castletown Commissioners in 1976, becoming chairman in 1980 before being elected as the Castletown MHK in 1981 at his first attempt. In 2000, he was defeated in his attempt to become Speaker of the House of Keys by David Cannan but instead became the Deputy Speaker. President Of Tynwald
The President of Tynwald (''Eaghtyrane Tinvaal'') is the presiding officer at the sittings of Tynwald Court in Douglas and is elected by the members of Tynwald from amongst their number. The first elected president, Charles Kerruish, was elected in 1990 and held office until his retirement in 2000. The presiding officer remains impartial but has, in the case of a tied vote in the Legislative Council on a division, has a casting vote. The President authorises the Order Paper for sittings, is responsible for controlling the procedure of Tynwald Court and for the authoritative interpretation of its Standing Orders. This is mostly mirrored in the office of the Speaker of the House of Keys. Prior to 1990, the post was held ''ex officio'' by the Lieutenant Governor. Adrian John Earnshaw MHK (born 19 January 1950) is a Manx politician, who was the Minister of Home Affairs in the Isle of Man Government and a Member of the House of Keys for Onchan. Early life and career Born on 19 January 1950, he was educated at Onchan Primary School and Douglas High School, he worked at Isle of Man Bank from 1968 until his election in 2001 as MHK for Onchan. He had previously served as an Onchan Commissioner. In December 2006, he was appointed Minister of Tourism and in 2008 was moved to Home Affairs Minister by Tony Brown. Martyn Quayle
George Martyn Quayle, MHK (6 February 1959 – 26 August 2016) was a Manx politician who previously held the position of Minister of Tourism and Leisure in the Isle of Man Government and represented Middle in the House of Keys. He served as minister of the Department of Social Care. Martyn Quayle was born on the Isle of Man, the son of George Douglas Quayle and Elaine Evelyn Corrin. He was educated at St Ninian's High School and Ballakermeen High School before joining the Civil Service. He then joined Isle of Man Farmers Ltd, rising to Company Secretary and Managing Director between 1986 and 2002.
