James Aiono
James Aiono (born January 23, 1989) is a former American football defensive end. He was signed by the Indianapolis Colts after going undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football at Snow College and Utah Utes football, Utah. College career Aiono appeared in 23 games for the Utes from 2010 to 2011 and finished with 12 tackles. Prior to his career with the Utes, he played junior college football at Snow College and was a 2008 first-team junior college All-American. Professional career After going undrafted in 2012, Aiono was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent. He was waived/injured on August 31, 2012, by the Colts and placed on injured reserve for the 2012 season and later released with an injury settlement on September 5, 2012. Defensive End
Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an " end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside. When most teams adopted a five-man line, two different styles of end play developed: "crashing" ends, who rushed into the backfield to disrupt plays, and "stand-up" or "waiting" ends, who played the more traditional containment style. Injured Reserve
The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Injured reserve lists are used because the rules of these leagues allow for only a certain numbers of players on each team's roster. Snow College
Snow College is a public community college in Ephraim, Utah. It offers certificates and associate degrees in a number of areas, along with bachelor's degrees in music and software engineering and a four-year nursing program. Snow College is part of the Utah System of Higher Education. History Founded in 1888 by local citizens as Sanpete Stake Academy, the school was later renamed Snow Academy to honor Lorenzo Snow and Erastus Snow, distant cousins who were leaders in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).
