Jalangi River
Jalangi River (), is a branch of the Ganges river in Murshidabad and Nadia districts in the Indian state of West Bengal. It flows into the Bhagirathi river and strengthens its lower channel, the Hooghly. The river below the point where the Jalangi meets the Ganges is known as the Hooghly and the course above it, from the point of its separation from the main flow of the Ganges to its confluence with the Jalangi, is called the Bhagirathi. Ghurni, a neighbourhood of Krishnanagar, a centre for the production of clay dolls, often referred to as Krishnanagar clay dolls, is located on the banks of the Jalangi. Nabadwip, the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is located in the west bank of the Bhagirathi. Mayapur is located at the confluence of the Jalanagi and Bhagirathi. Anjana River
Anjana is a local river of Nadia district of West Bengal. The long river drains Krishnanagar, Jalalkhali and Badkulla areas, which belong to Krishnanagar, and Krishnanagar 1 and Hanshkhali community development block. The Anjana River originates on the southern bank of the Jalangi River at the northern end of Krishnanagar, the river generally flows south through the Jalalkhali area before reaching Badkulla. Passing the town of Badkulla, the river flows southeast and joins the Churni river. A tributary originates from this river at Hat Boalia, which joins the Churni river at Hanshkhali. The course of the river has become a canal within the city of Krishnanagar, thus drying up most of the course. The river has very little flow in seasons other than monsoon. The river has been gradually silted up under the pressure of unplanned and illegal urbanization for a long time in Krishnanagar. Ichamati River
Ichamati River () (also spelt Ichhamati), is a trans-boundary river which flows through India and Bangladesh and also forms part of the boundary between the two countries. The river is facing siltation leading to thin flow of water in the dry season and floods in the rainy season. Experts are considering remedial measures and the situation is being discussed between the governments of India and Bangladesh. River Churni
The Churni River is a distributary of the Mathabhanga River and a tributary of the Hooghly River, flowing through Nadia district in West Bengal, India. The Mathabhanga River itself is a distributary of the Padma River. The Mathabhanga-Churni is one of the three Nadia Rivers —Bhagirathi, Jalangi, and Mathabhanga. The Mathabhanga-Churni system is also an Indo-Bangladesh transboundary river. Course Char-Mahishkunadi village is located to the east of Char-Madhugori, along the northeastern border of Karimpur-1 block. To the east of the border fence of Char-Mahishkunadi lies a narrow bypass channel of the Padma River in Bangladesh. Faridpur District
Faridpur District () is a district in south-central Bangladesh. It is a part of Dhaka Division. It is bounded by the Padma River to the northeast. The district was named for its headquarters, the city of Faridpur, Bangladesh, Faridpur, which itself was named for Baba Farid, Farīd-ud-Dīn Masʿūd, a 13th-century Sufi saint. Bhairab River
The Bhairab () is a river in south-western Bangladesh, a distributary of the Ganges. It passes through Khulna, dividing the city into two parts. Bhairab River originates from Tengamari border of Meherpur District and passes through Jessore city. The river is approximately long and wide. Its average depth is and with minimal water flow, it has plenty of silt. Early history The Bhairab, which is considered to be of older origin than its parent river the Jalangi, takes off from that river a few miles north of Karimpur near Akheriganj at Bhagwangola (Vidhan Sabha constituency) in Murshidabad district (in West Bengal). Jalangi is a village, with a police station, identified in 2011 census, in Jalangi CD Block in Domkol subdivision of Murshidabad district in the state of West Bengal, India. Ghurni is a neighbourhood of Krishnanagar in Nadia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the centre for the production of clay dolls, often referred to as Krishnanagar clay dolls.
